... Because it was Robert's birthday, the Irwin family were all there and put on the show. We saw some birthday messages for Robert and sang him happy birthday and then got on with seeing some crocodiles being fed. Santa made an appearance as well and all in all it was good fun, if a bit staged.

We then went and got our picture taken with a koala (I've always wanted to cuddle one so took the opportunity) and learnt a bit about koalas at the koala ...

... and 6 beer. In the afternoon, we went for a walk on the boardwalk except this time we went in the opposite direction, towards the river. On the way we passed a wedding party heading from the beach to the reception. They looked beautiful but very casually dressed. The groomsmen had on dark shorts, white shirts and boutiniers. It was only until we walked and drove through Toowoomba that we realise how much damage the floods caused - Toowoomba is above the Lockyer valley and the water cascaded from it down about 350 meters to the valley below and beyond

We stood at the spot in the Visitor centre where the boy saved his brother -quite sad

There is a new road from Toowoomba to Brisbane where it leaves ...

... I swam within 10 feet of a dolphin and her cub who playfully frolicked in the water for ages around us. It was surreal almost, and there was no doubt in the beauty of God's creatures when you were right there seeing them. Incredible. Absolutely Incredible! Off to the next beach (the second of four we would go to today), Cylinder Beach, where the kids played in the surf with full wet suits on until we had to pry their little sandy bodies out of the water ...

... as I had been prescribed wrong ones - major hassle). Then headed home for some dinner. Later headed out once again for a lovely game of bowling in what seemed a alley from the 60s. Was such a funny night, was Fiona, I and all the kitchen boys which was a proper giggle.... after we headed to Mon Komo which we discovered was Kareoke night.. and a new tradition was born without knowing.
