... amp; Dee's. Sorry to report the weather has been absolutely beautiful all week ... a bit chilly at night but mid twenties during the day. Sorry to hear Wellington has had a bad weather week ... whew we left just in time. Hope you are all fit and well and we will post some photos as soon as we get a chance to take some so you can get a feel of our surroundings etc. Take care ... till the next post ... ... the frenchies to Brisbane and checked into our old hostel again ;) At night we went to Fortitude Valley with them and partied into the night :) Today we left our hostel said goodbye to some people again and drove to Bribie Island where I'm writing this post right now ;) It's one of the most beautiful beaches or deserted beaches I've seen. Hardly any people and it's sunny. We will have to see where we sleep tonight but for now we are relaxing at the beach ;) Have a beautifully sunny day ...

Today was mum's birthday. I love her very much. This morning we went to the beach and went exploring in some rock pools. We found some amazing things. I nearly slipped on a moss rock. We found a sea slug, heaps of hermit crabs, a few baby Moreton bay bugs and a sea urchin. In the afternoon we went for a long swim in our pool. ...

... First stop was the Willows caravan park about 70 km west of Emerald - we tried to dig for sapphires for about half a day but the ground is very hard and all sapphires are from 500mmm to 2m deep and are found amongst granite rocks and boulders - requires months to dig to reasonable depths

Instead we bought some wash (sapphire bearing dirt) and found a few.

Willows is in the middle of a drought , drinking water being trucked in and almost no water left to wash ...

... really well, I drove to Nerang, down M1 and across the Gateway Bridge (8 lane highway bridge) last Friday and Kennie relaxed and actually enjoyed being a passenger ! Harry had a lovely lunch ready for us so we had a very relaxing day. My parking still needs some 'work' but it's getting there !
