Climbing in Siurana Part 2
... attempted climbs. We warmed up, climbing in the sun and perfect weather. Did an amazing, technical 7a, and tried the two 7b+/5.12c routes we had already attemped. I managed to send (climb without falling) one and Matthieu the other, so between the two of us we did them both! We each almost sent the other as well, falling once each... c'est la vie. Beautfiul orange vertical limestone set amongst green rolling hills.

Climbing in Siurana Part 1
... met a Russian girl named Sasha who tagged along as well as two of Matthieu's friends from Switzerland. The Paella was amazing, I don't think you could put more seafood or meat into a single dish, fish, mussels, squid, octopus, shrimp, chicken, sausage etc. and I think I even found a piece of beef in there, all with rice (or is it risotto?) in a spicy tomato sauce.
The next day was a rest day ...

... Roca, the locals start to clap in time and as one, the giants begin to dance, whirling and circling in couples, all around the top part of the square. Stand close enough and you will be carresed by their twirling skirts or momentarily terrifed as one towers above you and looks ready to collapse - though they never do. As Amparito reaches its climax the clapping and singing becomes more enthusiastic until it is all over, with cheers and appluase and smiles on everyones faces. ...
A long arm and a long day of Santa Tecla
... bottles and other strong drinks. We walked for quite a while, reminding ourselves what a handsome city Tarragona is, before meeting up with the others and making our way to the Casa de la Festa.
This was our first look inside the building proper, having attended a Santa Tecla event there in 2010 but not being able to have a look beyond the first room then. This is something that should be on the itinerary of all visitors and it is worth finding out the opening times. The ...
More Santa Tecla
... for the early part of the day and we weren't expecting James or Tony & Kay to be up and about soon, so we went for a walk to perhaps see some areas we hadn't been to before. We wound our way fairly randomly through Tarragona's streets, slowly heading up hill until we finally intersected Rambla Nova, quite a long way down (or up) near the castellers statue where we spent an amusing few minutes trying to get a photo of the work without people in it. It's a popular location ...
