So it wasn't as straightforward as Chris and I thought, to just get a bus from Alaminos to San Juan. Our first bus, air conditioned, but standing room only, took us over an hour, to Dagupan. Since we were standing, we were unable to eat our breakfast, that we had bought from a street vendor in Alaminos. So boiled eggs and rice soup in hand, we swapped from one bus to another in Dagupan, but this time it was a 4x2 (4 seats one side, 2 seats the other), open ...

It was a sweet little turo turo (point point) that had awesome breakfast and the best fried chicken I have ever had. I think the best ...

... tobacco fields. Tom says that each town and district produce only a few types of goods. I guess corn and tobacco grow the best here due to the ocean and the climate.

As we drive though Pasiquin, I ask what all these vendors are selling. Large white bags of salt and 2L jugs of vinegar. We pull over so I can get to the beach, it's beautiful all lined with fishing boats. Too bad the beach is scattered with litter. ...

IMPRESSIONS: PEOPLE – very friendly, very helpful, excellent English, BEACHES – well-deserved reputation for amazing beaches, variety from surfers-beaches to white sand, blue water, zero people NATURE – impressive volcanoes, amazing rice paddies, nice treks, very touristy at known places – sometimes feels more like Disney world than a national park, SURFING – great waves for all skill levels, DIVING – sites I dived was very average, sure there ...
