Spurred on for Coco Bongos, we headed over for an unexpectedly crazy night in one of the most surreal evenings I've ever had! ... exorbitant tip for helping us find an ATM and the bus (which we could have managed ourselves). Instead of paying the man $1 he paid him $10! Nice one! After this little hiccup we headed into Cancun centro expecting the worst. Wrong!! ... later the infamous rain poured down over the Riviera Maya, we had witnessed some of the rain in Merida but nothing like this! As it’s so hot during the day, the sky usually opens up in the afternoon/early evening to cool everything down with 5 or so minutes of rain, but this downpour didn’t want to stop. Luckily it was nearing our pick up time so we didn’t get too wet while waiting for our tour bus.
