    ... rousing game of UNO allowed a few team members to meet another patron, while the more introverted took a quieter break. Later this afternoon we'll be going to look at the concert venues.

    ... destination: Astana. This little town was declared Kazakh capital in 1997 and since then they have been building a futuristic town in the middle of the steppe. The new town centre is a sea of concrete, glass, metal and very modern and bizarre architecture with the latest addition a leaning tent with indoor beach, oceanium, shopping centre and mini-golf.     ... of town, with a mall on the doorstep and a short walk to most of the city's attractions. First up was a visit to a huge modern yurt (traditional Kazakh tent) called Khan Shatyr with a mall inside and a system to keep the temp constant at 22degs year round - with an outside temp that varies between -30 and 35.
