... like 45 minutes. I got some pretty good reading done on the way up, though (Way of Kings).

When we got there, we, well, obviously we climbed the mountain! The first bit of it was 100% steep as hell incline. After about 5 minutes I thought I was going to die. My calves were burning SO hard. ... the boat had to re-route to the Sawyer glacier as the planned route was a white out. We could see nothing but fog and mist! Even then, the conditions at Sawyer were fairly grim. Thankfully, the alternate route let us have our first sight of a glacier up close (although it was hard to photograph it in the conditions!). The water in the fjords has a strange green coloration. This is because of the glacial silt drawn into the water ...

... all very informative!!) from the guide was driving me crazy!!!...he was such a nice guy and he did all the 'right' things - but I just wanted him to stop talking!!! ( might have been the early rising) But even as we walked the temple - we were kept 'in formation' with the guide setting the pace with his comments. So I just exited from group - did my own walking of the terraces...trying to be mindful of the teachings of the Buddha ...

... 1911 as a link between eastern and western Canada. It is patterned after the Plaza Hotel in NYC and is on the National Historic Registry in Canada.

Since our flight arrives late, it will be a quick dinner and then off to bed. Tomorrow we get a sightseeing trip of Winnipeg attractions and meet the remainder of our travel group in the evening.

First glitch of the day. Arrived Vancouver on time with a 1 hour ...

My trip concludes with an explosive ending.

... and we had planned to go to Mount St Helens; a volcano which, had erupted in the late 1980's. It was interesting to see the before and after pictures and the trees on the mountain were still black, even after 30 years. The boiling water and lava had burnt the ground leaving winding valleys and a vast expanse of space. One could see for miles due to the eruption burning all the trees which, previously, would have blocked the view. The hike felt extremely good after a weekend ...
