... a huge need of a cold pill and some rest. I think I napped on and off for 2 hours. We had a light supper and stayed in doing some laundry, showers and lots of resting. When I was blow drying my hair I had nasty thought of work creep into my thoughts and it annoyed me because I am still on vacation. Stop it!!!

Our trip started with lunch in Chinatown where the fortune cookie I picked from a pile was empty. No fortune, no future? An omen ... or a quality control problem in the Chinese bakery? You decide.

We were up bright and early to visit Alcatraz. We had the early tickets for the 8:45am tour which was great as we were the first group on the island so we could really see everything. I was surprised by how small the jail was. I always thought of it being bigger but I guess the movies make it out that way. The cells were tiny and we heard many jail stories as we went through.
