Dont use the cleaners trolley as a land mark, it won't be there the next time you get out of the lift, Oops, sorry elevator.
Watch out for unexpected kerbs, you can fall down, not be able to get up and the Concierge will have to help you. (I wasn't hurt, just couldn't get up)

So by now it was 8pm and we were tired and a bit stressed. Back to plan B.
A quick scout further afield revealed a hotel by the airport had some vacancies so we dashed over there. Only to be told sorry we are fully booked. What's going on in this city???
Apparently there is a large IT conference this week and there is nothing left or its 10 times the normal price. Outrageous!

Later that day we headed up to twin peaks to see the city. San Francisco is a pretty cool city, spread out over the bay. Then off to crissy park and the bridge. It is huge! We walked along the beach and started getting a bit homesick. We finished off with some awesome thai food, ready for another day!

I'm taking this trip for a lot of reasons. It started with seeing my dear friend, Jill. Jill and I met in college and have become closer and closer friends over the years. We were neighbors in New York until about a year ago, when Jill took the incredibly brave and exciting step of packing up her life and moving to Australia. I've been planning a visit to her ever since. I am really looking forward to seeing her and traveling together. I miss her bright ...

We ended up sleeping in a car park in
Oakdale CA. It had a Starbucks so we figured if they tried to move us
along, we could always go purchase a coffee so we had a legitimate
reason to be parking there. Not the best nights sleep but it was
someone to stop and we were all tired after a long day.
