... sun had now set and we were struggling a bit due to the long day of travelling we went back up to the observatory deck in the John Hancock Centre to get some photos of Chicago at night. This would save us visiting again on the Sunday evening.
So it was back to the hotel and in bed for 10.00pm, absolutely shattered. Having said that we woke up at 4.00am and couldn't get back to sleep, Decided to update the blog.
We had to really cram as much into today as we possibly could. Allowing ourselves a late-ish start of 9.00, I was determined to taste the pleasures of the hotel's Spa. Wonderful facilities- a steam room that has me wondering if we can have one like it at home; a sauna which was not as unbearably hot as they normally are; a herbal sauna room with rosemary and sage crisping in the heat (which made me think there may have been a leg of lamb cooking in ...
... and listened to some live music. It was a really fun experience. After dinner we went on a boat tour around the river and into Lake Michigan. We learned about some of the architecture in the city as well as some famous sites. It was a fairly full day despite a later start and it was really fun.

... why the city seems so quiet - most of the locals use the Dallas Pedestrian Network to move around. This is a system of underground tunnels and above-ground skybridges that connects buildings, garages and parks so that inclement weather (particularly heat) can be avoided. ... of food places open past midnight but one stood out, and after having had people tell me about it I decided to grow some balls and go in. Yes, I grew some balls and decided to go to the Wieners Circle. Now, you may think the funniest aspect of that is that 'wieners' is in the title. Perfectly natural assumption, but you my friend would be wrong. I didn't need to go out to get a fun, tasty, and absolutely terrifying experience.
