... the activity. Steve and I looked after Aiden while Larissa had a play date. We had a lovely long walk this afternoon enjoying the sun. We stopped for a Starbucks iced coffee. Today was a trip to a State Park about 1 hour's drive north of Coppell. Whilst most of the drive was along freeways we passed through farming country with horse ranches and cattle before entering the park. Ray Roberts Lake State Park has a 29000 acre reservoir supporting many water activities. The weather was nice and sunny but the wind kept it cool - about 16. ... some pretty cool panels all around the observation deck where you can zoom in on what you can see and get information etc about it. After the tower we drove back through Dallas to our hotel. We both felt Dallas seemed kinda unspectacular. The city centre seemed very clean and organised but seemed to lack any kind of life, or really much to do. It just seemed like a normal city. ... Baptist Church with its burnished copper roofing. The church obviously has some generous parishioners, and we were amused to hear that the church offers free valet parking. We made our way to Pioneer Plaza, an open park, where we spent a short time looking at the large sculpture commemorating a nineteenth century cattle drive along the Shawnee Trail.
