... for poor visibility we were ducking in and out of the channel to avoid Navy traffic.

During the trip down anything that wasn't fastened down below ended up on the floor in the salon. Left Annapolis at 2 Monday and arrived at Top Rack Marina at about 2 this afternoon. Rewarded ourselves with a great dinner out at the Amber Lantern Restaurant. Early to bed. Up at 5:30 tomorrow to get underway at first light.

... As we approached Virginia Beach we were buzzed by FA 18's fighter jets overhead! We soon found out we were camped near the Navel Air Station Oceana, the only Jet Base on the East Coast. We were serenaded with their daily training flights - or the sound of freedom! One night we had helicopters (I think) overhead until 1:30am YES in the middle of the night! They seem to be doing circuits for hours & hours. Needless to say we were not thrilled ...

Left Helens place after an emotional goodbye from her and drove down to Williamsburg, one of the original British colony settlements which has been renovated to recreate how it iriginally looked using huge donations of money as the black granite fountain had it listed the donors who donated 1-20 million dollars plus.
