... up and out the plughole in the bath. We called housekeeping, who didn’t understand a word we were saying, they turned up and stood in the bathroom amazed. More people turned up, they too were amazed. Eventually we were given another room – which we slowly moved into. Ed went first and was slowly joined by each bag as it is packed, and eventually his parents.

And finally, we got some peace. We hit the National Archives first where I spent a long time oohing and aahing over the faded Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Amazing to see these documents in real life! Afterwards, we spent a happy hour wandering through the various displays, especially the incredible Magna Carta. So glad we didn't bring the kids who would have been bored to death looking at ...
... and Space & the American Indian. We had wifi access in the museums so kept up with the Americas Cup action online. No mainstream coverage here of the cup!
