San Francisco can only be described as a city of hills. Hills, hills, hills. Even Alcatraz sits perched on a hill in the middle of the bay. The reason for the limited personal safety when swinging on a pole on the tram is the speeds at which the trams hurtle up and down said hills with crazy tourists hanging from a thin piece of metal.
