... pier with a couple of presents purchased along the way... From here we were bound for Sara's in San Ramon, along the way encountering our first mega highway, just a casual sixteen lanes (going bothways that is). Upon arriving at Sara's we were well and truly in the idyllic, picturesque American community. The rest of the evening was spent getting to know Sara, her husband Marty and their son Grady, before heading off for our comfiest bed of the trip thus far.
And at 38,000 feet above the Grand Canyon, the hassle of getting on a plane is soon surpassed by the thrill of seeing the Grand Canyon from 38,000 feet in an aluminum tube going 600 KPH, with available WiFi and free cold beverages. Even having a whiz at altitude is a experience not to be missed. Too bad they have taken all the fun out of getting on board and all the comfort out of economy class.
