The grass verge outside our apartment is artificial grass. Just to ensure it continues to look good, a man comes out every morning and hoses it off. And then hoses the driveway and parking lot next door. Hummm...

... a few valuable lessons in the last couple of days: 1. Despite all warnings - meals here are HUGE - we still have over-ordered food. 2. there are turn off lanes in the middle of highways/freeways - as well as turn arounds 3. go to your friendly visitors centre first - do not pass go, go there first and get all the info on public transport etc - as you can't rely on your ****** hotel to give you anything! 4. don't trust a cab driver - they are just trying to ...
