... we drove west from the visitor center, we saw several more elk. They are so majestic! I could watch them for hours. We stopped again at the summit and the highlight there was watching the picas. ... had the Pre-Check logo printed on my standby card. But as my bad luck would have it, the TSA Pre-Check security checkpoint at IAD closes at 9 p.m. Ugh, just missed it by a few minutes. As it turns out, this would create a massive headache.
