Turned out to be a gorgeous early fall kind of day. I turned west again, pretty much making a big loop from Huntsville through Algonquin Park and then back to Orillia. The colours alongside the road were just as spectacular as those I saw in Algonquin Park. The problem was that there was no opportunity to get off the road to take photos until I was about an hour from Orillia. The area is also populated, of course, so there ...

Historical signs are often quite interesting regarding local events but I was especially pleased to come across the one at Champlain Park. Here, on Lake Nipissing, is where our Canadian explorers started on their way to the west. ... the best burgers followed by a game of Muskoka Rummy which I really enjoyed. I'm sure I will teach it to others. On another day off we went to an Arts Festival in the Main Street of Bracebridge - plenty of random things going on. Marc, Wendy, Lindsay, Charlotte, Hebba, David, Ben, Robin, Attila, Antoine, Carol and Marcel - thank you for making this summer so amazing. I appreciate your friendship and maybe one day we'll meet ...

... the most is the knowledge that we will give our children the most incredible gift we can: an understanding of the world.

Recently, friends recommended a book to help me get over my fears and show me an understanding of the value of traveling. As they told me about their travels around the world, excitement and wide-eyed enthusiasm took hold of them and their love of travel was clear. Those two people were students I taught ...
