It was meant to be a short day but by the time we stopped for photos plus this and that and something else it was nearly 4:30 before we got to a campsite for the night. Found a nice spot on Lake Couchiching which is separated from Lake Simcoe by a narrow neck of land.

Clearly, the maples are in their glory showing off but the poplars, aspen and beech are a little hesitant to step into their fall fashions, the tamarack are still being shy, showing just a hint of pale yellow but the black spruce are stalwart in their deep dense greenery - they won’t be changing their colours anytime soon. It’s a delicious feast for the eyes.

Wow we love it here. Murray wanted to move here within the first couple of days. The kids took a few days to break through the shyness and they are so funny. Their house is in the 'bush' as they say and has lots of grass and a pool. We enjoyed a couple of days drinking beer by the pool. On Labour day we had a BBQ with more family around.
