... Jefferson Memorial. It took us a few tries to get there, but we eventually did. The day was coming to a close when we arrived at the almost Roman looking structure of the Memorial and with lights shining on the building, it made it look so much more epic and grand looking. Inside we were greeted by a huge statue of Thomas Jefferson himself. Many of his quotes were written on the walls of the memorial and the place seemed to be entirely made of ...

Up early from our stop overnight in a Walmart Carpark (free). It was actually quite comfortable and I enjoyed it in their large, clean car park. It is obviously a favourite for truck drivers as they came and went all night (so Liam told me, I slept through it all !)Today we planned to travel through NY state, down the west coast of NJ state, along a scenic highway, and then south towards DC, but as with all well thought out plans there were some hiccups along ...

The first night, I ended up hanging out in the common area, waiting for the free BBQ the hostel was providing. There was actually an awesome vibe in this hostel and it was really easy to meet people. I made friends with this German girl called helen (there are so many German people in America) and we decided to do some sightseeing the following day which was good as there is so ...

The Working Week

A travel blog entry by rhidianmorgan on May 15, 2014

... Wednesday is yet another busy work day. I get back, spend 45 minutes on the exercise bike, then Helen and I meet the bunch at the fantastic Gillys. A couple of great craft beers later, we head off to "Silver Diner". We are queuing out the door, but one of our group insists on staying. There are kids everywhere as they are hosting some fund raising event. Great! We have yet another mediocre meal, but at least the kids were well behaved and the company is good. Small ...
