I’m on my way!

I am officially on my way to New York City (currently over Michigan!) and the trip is going well so far. The seat next to me on the plane is open, which always a bonus, AND our travel agent gave me a little upgrade which never hurts J

I am going to try to keep this blog as updated as possible… I hope you enjoy it!

Alexis

Good evening Ohio

There's a old travel rule of thumb..."Never travel with more than you can run with for a quarter mile."

Gotta' work on that.

Thanks to 'Beca, Mark and Layla for their marvelous hospitality! It won't be three years again before we visit. Save the milkweed! Save the Monarchs!

Countdown

I am still at home. Only one more week. Being away from my home for three weeks requires a lot of preparation. I even know the movie that are going to have on the Flight. I am tired already!! Since I will be on a plane for almost 24 hours, I am collecting all the necessary stuff needed to be comfortable.

Enjoying a day off

... in, I was starting to feel like I would survive. Still couldn't walk well and the constant urge to pee was present but knew it was all getting better. Finally made it to Conseco (was so excited to be at this venue working a show!) about noon. As I was packing Sun morning (before going to PromptMed and needing to arrive for our show), I couldn't find my passport and credit cards. AH! As if a medical problem wasn't enough, I now had ...

... Shop, a place Abraham Lincoln practiced law when he was on the traveling circuit court, Webster's home from the dictionary, slave quarters and plantation owner's homes, Thomas Edison's Menlo Lab, and Henry Ford's one room schoolhouse where he went to school...were just a few of our favorites. The best part were all the costumed interpreters walking around interacting and talking to the kids teaching them real life history. We saw "Thomas Edison" at his press ...

A beautiful drive

Today Gail and I made the drive up to the Homestead, choosing to leave early friday to avoid holiday traffic. After an interesting packing job due to the fact my plane was delayed coming into Detroit the previous evening, we left Royal Oak and started cruising up I-75. There was a fashion emergency which required a stop at the outlet mall and resulted in me buying a new black tank top. As we continued north from Saginaw, the sun started shining and it ...
