... had a mini mass. After church we picked up a couple of things from Whole Foods Market so mum and dad could cook dinner. They made meatballs, they were really nice. Then we drove to a park with lots of Christmas lights and walked around in the cold looking at all the pretty lights. After a good night's rest and a quick breakfast at the hotel, we met up with my sister/family and headed to my other sister's house. As we drove into Westminster we saw mountains in the distance. If we allowed our minds to drift a bit, one could be convinced we were driving back home and seeing the Sandia Mountains. Anyway, we didn't have lots of plans for the day as we just were ready for some family time together.

... stop at the visitor center near the summit (closed as it was after 5pm) and took in the views from there. We saw numerous elk in the far off distance. They always look so peaceful because they have an amazing habitat and where they were, no people were going to be bothering them. This is the same spot where we witnessed an elk being born last year. It's gorgeous and we certainly took our share of pictures at this stop.

... Canyon View, we left Dad at this amazing overlook area.

After passing through both the Grand Mesa and the Rockies, it was near 8:00 pm and we were over the road trip! We finally made it to Christine's home to the screams of delight from her son Levi and the barking of her gigantic dogs, Garret and Scout. The three sisters are together at last and are planning our next move.

... having to dress that way because every other guy looked like they were little children in a candy store smiling from ear to ear. That night we ended up just having some quiet drinks back at another friends house I had recently been introduced to before heading home for bed.

Sunday was hungover and exhausted especially when we had to wake up at 10am (which is early for me even before having a big night out) ...
