Phew... Going through US Customs was a bit trying... No searching but a lot of questions meant - I supposed - to catch us with something bad... Who knows. We did not loose any meal. We're in the middle of a fairground, with a weak WiFi but OK. The only analog TV channels are from Detroit but the Detroit area offers 22 digital channels, many
Longer day than expected but we grinded the flying condo to a halt. No problem other than a sticking lock on the propane door.

Ah Detroit...home to the Pacers-Pistons brawl at the palace, the Russian national hockey team, and what will be the remnants of the once great American auto-industry once the bailout money is misappropriated and gone. I just had a burger at Chili's too for lunch, figuring it will be the last ...
Detroit, Michigan, United States jknoff22Our bags are packed... we're ready to go. Could be a good song! We've finally managed to squeeze our belongings into suitcases weighing less than fifty pounds. I actually started packing Saturday, weighing, adjusting, repacking, matching outfits until I maximized all my choices. Thank God for Chico's!!! I'm counting on hot weather, and, if not, luckily there will ...
Detroit, Michigan, United States marwilt... the conservative nature of Grosse Ile for the aloof culture integral in Spain. But, it all built up for the ultimate escape, España. Boarding the plane with the my new closest friends (coincidentally the only English-speaking friends I would encounter) and putting thousands of miles behind us was one of the most liberating experiences I can recall.
Sorry to dwell on the negative attitudes about my summer. To compensate, I am including some finer pictures of my home town. Enjoy.

Just before we left Canada we spotted one of these and had to stop and try. The chips were great with brown hot gravy on the side. Next we had to spend all our Canadian change so off to the servo next door to fill up on candy (sorry I am turning into a yank I will have to change my vocablury on the plane ...

I want everyone who reads this entry to think about their parents and what they have done for you and who they are. We might not get along with them all the time, or appreciate the time they have and will spend on us, but they are the most important people in our lives and they deserve all the happiness they wished for us when we ...
It was a bad start to our dream vacation. Our Air France flight was to leave at 7:50PM to fly to Paris and then to Florence. Mom dropped us off at the airport at about 3:30PM. We were on the plane and away from the gate when the captain came on and told us the engines where not working correctly so they had to check a few things. We stayed on the plane for about 2 hours and then they pulled back to the gate and we got off the plane. They told us to ...
Detroit, Michigan, United States christineraymo... 3 hours later, we still hadn't seen it all. Apart from this substantial museum, was the acres, and acres AND ACRES, of land, buildings and factories dedicated solely to the automative industry. Testing stations, racetracks, assembly plants, research facilities and on and on and on and on. Automative city, in every sense of the word - incredible. You might think after that, what else is there to see?? But Detroit for me, has two entities - cars ...
