The band was young and their youth matched their exuberance to climb through notes and scales and rhythms and each musician owned parts of each piece. You could have hugged them they were that close. ... and some of the houses along the beach front were beautiful. With the surfers, joggers, bikers, skaters, skateboarders, the mini tennis, handball and basketball courts, the gym at Muscle Beach and the other sporting and fitness facilities all publicly available along the beach there was a lot of activity going on. There was also all the touristy shops at the back and lots of sounds and music being played along the beach front so there was a real festive air to it all. In the evening ...

Then it was back to the airport and away to the southern hemisphere.
Overall, I found LA a great place to spend a day. The architecture was surprising and varied. There were a million interesting things to see. And, although the car clearly does rule the roost and there was boredom and concrete in between the interesting stuff, I won't be at all upset the next time I have to fill in a day there.
