... to recall the events of that day. The cockroach museum lightened things up for us- it was a quick, but memorable stop( wink, wink!). Our drive to Austin was full of exclamations-"Blue Bonnets!! Blue Bonnets on the right!!" The roadside was so colorful. Once in Austin, it was fried chicken at Lucy's- fun to sit out in the cool evening air with a tin bucket of fried chicken- and some FRIED deviled eggs. ... worst waiter if the bread contained any nuts. His response was that he wasn't sure, but if there was, would this be a problem? I responded that since I was allergic it probably was going to be an issue. He returned with our breakfast with mine having the banana bread wedged in the fruit salad and said from what we could see there didn't appear to be any nuts. ... a state park on the edge of a lake. Lots of hiking and horse riding trails, fisherman on their boats and plenty of people just enjoying the water on their boats and jet skis.
