This may have been due to the laidback and yoga-infused people of Austin or the incredible artists who performed, but I suspect the good vibe was mostly due to the incredible amount of dogs. "B on the G is like a Dog Museum!" Venus showed her bright face as the sun fell, the music stopped and a massive exodus from the park began (after everyone recycled).

... lit Big Room and then decided to hike back up the eighty stories or so of the Natural Entrance. Daylight never looked so sweet as at the end of that climb. The road part of the day was mostly long and boring. US 285 to I-10 past ranch land and oilfields on 70 and 80mph roads. The last leg on US 280 at least had some hills and towns. ... a convenience store to get some snacks for breakfast then the half our up teh winding steep road to his new location. The view was amazing! We stayed up to midnight visiting with Alonso and hearing his plans for his new location high above San Jose.
No noisy city, just neighborhood dogs barking so put in my earplugs in and slept quite well. Up here in the cloud forest area it was 52 degrees. Nice transition after all the cold temps in early Jan in TX.
