... out for at least a week :( we walked round pier 39 , looked at the shops and saw the seals and sea lions , had lunch and then coming along the pier the saw a blind man in a booth selling Alcatraz tickets we asked how much they were , he said they included a bus tour too. The tickets were 'abit' more expensive but we decided to buy them as they were very difficult to find . We paid and he handed us the bus ticket and said come back tomorrow ...

We rolled into Half Moon bay a little before noon for lunch at the popular Sam's Chowder house with its lovely ocean view and solid chowder etc. I hope you have your hanky/Kleenex/tissue ready folks....this is officially our last meal on the road on our last day on the road. ... business men who clearly couldn't speak any English, and spent the flight asleep, sniffing, snorting or reading gadget magazines in Chinese.

The hotel is the best in the world! It is in the tourist area of Fisherman's Wharf, and fittingly nautical themed throughout. The staff are amazing and very friendly, the location is perfect and the restaurant makes a yummy clam chowder which has won the prize for the best ...
