... crowd. As we approached Union Square we panicked and accidentally got off a stop too early. We thought we had to walk to the BART station we had aimed for for about ten minutes but we accidentally stumbled across a BART station at Union Square. Once we ventured into the depths of the subway platforms, we got terribly confused and did not know which platform we were supposed to take to get to The Bay area. After retreating back up a LOT of stairs at a rapid pace ...

... been a good way to finish the first phase of our trip. We timed it well for the Oakland ferry and had a happy hour glass of wine to celebrate. The crossing was a great way to get a sense of the Bay Area with beautiful views all around. We had a number of stops before Oakland and the boat was packed with cycling commuters, including a bearded hipster with a Penny Farthing - never expected to see that. From the Oakland ferry port, we just had to cycle ...

... morning. We ended up sleeping 6 persons and 1 dog in 2 beds and 3 other persons on the floor. What a crazy night! We had a lot of fun though :)

Day 2: September 28, 2014

At 8.30 Gonzalo and I were still completely passed out until James woke us up. We realized we were sleeping in one bed together with Amanda and her medium-sized 13-year-old dog. It took us maybe 15 minutes to make Gonzalo stand up and follow us to our car we had left on the street last ...

Travelled to Sanoma Valley Wineries today. Weather report said to expect 33 deg. C, thank goodness it was only around 24. Sanoma Village is a character town & has 12,000 people, very quaint, strong Spanish history housing the last mission for them. Well known for its wine, also cheese which we were lucky to have tastings of. Mexican for lunch, lots of cafés & art galleries, I could easily live here, San Francisco City only an hr away.
