... s mentioned in the Maltese Falcon, a fact that's rammed down your throat at every opportunity. It has a good atmosphere as well, but you ca't help thinking it's trading off past glory. It is packed and the focus now seems to be on maintaining it as a high turnover money machine. Service was brusque and impersonal, food was ok but nothing special. Overall it felt like lost opportunity for a meal out in San Francisco.

... that I didn't realise the oven was in fareignheit, not Celsius and also that I had to use 2 ovens in 2 different flats in the complex to cook everything. It was really great though, came together at the end and everyone loved it! It seemed that Classic American dishes do not have many parts to them and this was an aspect of the roast that they really liked. ... manage before her feet began going numb and then it was time to retreat to dry land. With a squeal she was shortly out of there! All Nathan and Jonathan could do was laugh, no sympathy here! ... same. It was boring, windy, and hot.

I was very glad to get off it, but before long we were approaching Sacramento and the queues were massive. It took ages to get through the roadworks there, until we then joined another queue, this time to cross the bridge into San Francisco... and then to pay our $5 toll.
