... Birthday dinner at Fog City Diner, a popular eatery that I never got a chance to enjoy when I came here with my daughter Jessie-Mae in 2006. The decor is roughly 1930s nostalgia, lots of stainless steel, checkered tile, and other classic diner biil-I-fare. The food is slightly more swanky, but I still went with the burger and fries. ... the states, where you would not venture in the dark but, really it's about having your wits about you and taking the bad with the good (and there is so much good). I felt like I was playing a game of black jack with Oakland, Oakland being the dealer, offering the cards and me, the gambler, holding 2 cards adding up to 16. There was one man who actually scared me and had me panicking a bit for the girls’ safety. Suzi flying home

... alone, he gave me a security pass so that I could go with Suzi to the gate and make sure she got on the plane okay. A very nice gesture that allowed us just a little more time together.

The drive back to Livermore was lonely. I really enjoyed the drive down with Suzi and the chance to spend one more weekend with her.
