I'm knackered. I barely slept all night - I fact I'm not sure I did - the tap leaked all night, someone from the floor below was snoring really loudly and the bed was bloody uncomfortable - even the promise of a new hotel the next day didn't alleviate my late night anger Finally morning came - or at least it reached an hour that I could justify being awake at - we got up and left the ****** hotel, leaving the suitcase we are sending back to the UK with the guy ...

... We got to the elephant seal beach just before it got dark-there were hundreds of them just chilling or swimming or fighting in the sea (4 miles north of Hearst Castle). Drove past Piedras Blanca Lighthouse-thought about going to have a look but decided not to. We found out later there was actually a hostel there, if only we'd had a phone with internet while we were working out where to stay the night! Changed and we are off back to Fishermans Wharf fir dinner at Rainforest Cafe..jungle theme, lots of artificial native animals and forest greens. We struggled to stay awake last night and fell asleep relatively early, woken momentarily a few times by the noise of people in the hallway and rooms, and outside. We were awake at 7am. The day was cloudless and forecast to be 28'. Our mission was to get to the Fishermans Wharf area about 9am to get our Hop On Hop Off and Alcatraz tickets.
