    ... gazing. Gary and I were very impressed by the whole experience and can wholeheartedly recommend Arabian Adventures if you chose this tour.

    The drive back to our hotel was about 90 minutes and we enjoyed the company of our tour companions. A shower was needed as we were both covered in fine Arabian sand. Overall a highly enjoyable day in Dubai.

    ... that shows so well in the views. The viewing platform on the 124th floor is outside the building with glass walls but no ceiling. There are gaps in the glass panels so that photos can be taken with no interference from the glass. After half an hour or so here, we headed up to the 125th floor which they had opened up as well.     Friday in Dubai is the holy day and the first day of the weekend here. It is also the day the expat wives do brunch. Historically this began because nothing was open on Fridays, so the expats could not get a meal out anywhere. One of the big western hotels found a loophole that would allow them to open, but it had to be an "event" with an all-in price and tickets sold in advance. So brunch was born!
