... the jewellry shops. Anyway we had a very interesting afternoon.. We returned to the hotel and changed ready to be picked up by shuttle bus to be transported to the marina to catch the dhow for our evening trip. This was a two hour tour around the marina with a buffet dinner. We really enjoyed it but we're getting really tired by the end. Got back to the hotel about 11pm where we crashed out in bed for a much needed sleep.

The lift travels at 135km per hour and takes 58 seconds from ground floor to 124th floor. The weather is absolutely glorious and apparently this is the perfect time of year to visit. We are now back at our hotel after an awesome day, sipping a quiet Vodka and wondering what tomorrow's afternoon desert safari will ...

... 1hr45mins sleep before getting up to make our booking to go up the Burj at 4. I had not thought this through well. After our micro nap we headed back to the Burj for a trip up. I was impressed with info about the build, the speed of the lift, and just how damn shiny everything was but I felt a bit underwhelmed by it on the whole...I think I had expected it to be bigger. Maybe because of the thin shape, or maybe because you only get to go to about half way up, or maybe ...
