... weekend.. really enjoyed it, but definitely won't be doing it often given that it's a ghost town at camp and can be quite boring if one doesn't have a particular focus.
Recently I've been sleeping with "one eye open" and walking around camp with extra caution since there have been a number of scorpion and snake encounters. Apparently a "Camel Spider" carcass was also found, which is a huge spider (grows up to around 4") ...

There was an amazing little bar set up with champagne and strawberries and dates (which are every where in Dubai, and really delicious); little cushions to sit on to watch the sunset, and camels with covers over their mouths to stop any spitting. ... there was not a single moan or complaint out of either Rowan or Elodie for the full duration. Remember when they screamed 8 hours to Beijing? Well not this time! Gotta love Emirates entertainment system! Elodie did manage to spill her pineapple juice in the last 30mins of flight, but all in all a most excellent experience. So we arrived tired but happy and smelling sickly sweet at 2am local time (about 11pm back home) ...
