Living the Aussie Dream!

... to buy items from people’s stalls once you say no that’s it they leave you alone. Everyone thanks you for coming and they genuinely appreciate tourists coming and do everything they can to make your stay a good one. From Kuta we moved to Ubud where we spent our days eating great food, having Balinese massages and shopping...a general occurrence when you go away with your girlfriend. Although we enjoyed our stay in Ubud if you’re thinking about going to Bali and want to ...

Although very very crowded.
Whalewatching was absolutely amazing. We vewed a number of humpback whales that come to the coast here to give birth and raise their newborns before heading back to the cold waters near ...

... weekend!!!

It is already Tuesday night here, and I am leaving for Sydney with Sonia after work on Friday night and will only be driving back into town on Monday morning. We’ll be doing mostly beachy stuff and going out, which is great since they’re the 2 aspects of Sydney that I haven’t had the chance to enjoy yet. It’s crazy to think that I only have 2.5 weeks of work left and only 2 weekends left before heading off on my trip.. time is really flying by!!!

Planning - Back on track

They prospective tenants have rejected our halfway compromise and we even went further to try to seduce them but with no avail. So we have decided to reject the application altogether and hope someone new will turn up. I have advertised on the Gumtree website which is a great free website particularly for advertising house rentals.

With our trip starting to take ...

Sunshine versus Gold

... Annelise and her range of nightwear for the chain Sussan.. Go girl! Nicole, Sarah and I headed off , avoiding Surfers Paradise, a hugely built up area, complete with skyscrapers and tourists, we went towards the New South Wales border and arrived in Coolangatta for lunch at the surf club overlooking the sea and rocks and then continued south to Tweeds Head via Kirra Point and Snappers Point. That night, Nicole's brother cooked an amazing Korean ...

Maybe I Should Have Followed The Thai Stewardesses

... feelings for deleting India from our itinerary, as introducing the children to samosas was on our original India "to do" list]; One of the joys of this trip is simply spending time together as a family. While not always easy, it definitely has more good times than bad. As a few examples: · From Sarah's perspective, I took a big lead in the ongoing "best parent" competition. In the middle of the night she stood over us and announced that she had a bloody ...

... I'll be taking a more leisurely route up the Queensland coast so I can visit Fraser Island and obviously check out the reef. It seems nice here, but I have only arrived and checked in so far, so I will give you more of a judgement of the city centre tomorrow after I've had a wander round tonight. In the meantime, let me leave you with some one liners from the last few days: · A drunken Swiss girl took umbrage with the fact that ...

... Bali that there is nothing better than local knowledge. This is something Gordon had in abundance. He took me out on a drive along the coast up to Port Douglas. His guide knowledge was unique. For instance as he explained about the whitegrub you see people like Bear Grylls eat - he put it like this 'It's the food the locals ate...because they didn't have burgers and stuff.' Similar to why they drink water i suppose, because they don't have beer. We had lunch ...

... the fireworks and see all the city lit up. Everyone was swimming right up to midnight in the little beach and the fireworks were great! I've never seen them in the middle of a city before! It was funny the next morning to get a phone call from mum saying happy new year and we were already well into the next day! Anyway just a quick update as I don't have long. Enjoy the photos and a very happy new year to everyone!! xxx
