... that we've nearly reached the end of the bike tour. It will unfortunately also signal the end of the fun local questions at coke stops. After hearing that we started in Indonesia and rode the Outback, they usually follow with 'so is this supposed to be like... a holiday... for you?!' ... I slipped, slopped and slapped on our sunscreen, and set off around 8.30am to conquer the trail.

After a short moment of wondering - where the heck is the path - we consulted Sarah's trusty guidebook (A guide to walks in Canberra), and discovered the slightly mown grass path leading to Brayshaw's Hut - the first stop on track. Not that it was hard to get lost at that point - the hut was only about 150 metres ...

... live in that state. All very parochial. I know we don't pay taxes here but we certainly have donated a boat load of GST on this trip. To my knowledge, the UK, Canada and the US do not discriminate against tourists in this way. The savings can be significant. Today the bus passes were half the price of the regular adult fare.
