... I had to come home and work and earn some money and think about my future too. As boring an mundane as all that seemed to me after my phenomenal high. It was inevitable. I suppose it could have been worse...

It's easier for me to write this now, with the benefit of hindsight. But at the time, I couldn't be any more depressed. My heart just felt so sad. And I didn't want to write about it. It didn't even give me a little happiness to remember all ...

... airport prior to our flight. Our first stop was to buy Tom a pair of reading glasses as he had forgotten to bring even one of the six pairs he has at home. We then ordered some whisky to collect on our return and retired to the Qantas lounge until late, 23:55, when we caught Qatar flight 905 from Melbourne to Doha then on to Barcelona. The flight was up to the usual standard that we have come to expect from Qatar.

Regrettably we found that poor city policy in conservation and commercial zoning detracts from the overall impression of this remarkable urban environment, with tasteless advertising tacked onto stately historic buildings..
