... River valley. It is so pretty coming down the hill into the river road and being surrounded by majestic oaks, pines and a plethora of other trees common to this area. The mighty Mississip kept rolling right along as she has for centuries. I didn't see a lot of barge traffic on the big river this time tho. Maybe it was due to the massive construction undertaking on the bridges over the river and separating Minnesota from Wisconsin. It never ...

In a remarkably short time we joined them for biscuits & sausage gravy, and peanut butter on a toasted bagel (Ann) and cereal & OJ (Dave), supplemented by his last ...
... awake about 6, made tea on alcohol stove -- success. Cereal, milk, juice, fruit. Packed up and out about 9.25. Stopped in town of Nerstrand for ice -- little store that sold cheese and their own sausage. Bought thuringer.
Then we headed out to cross all of Minnesota aiming for Pipestone National Monument near Split Rock Creek State Park just short of the South Dakota border.
