The following morning, we continued gaining elevation until we reached 10,000-feet for the first time in Colorado. After a few more hours on this well-graded dirt road, we leveled off when we reached the junction with State Highway 8 that runs between Meeker on the West and Yampa on the East. The White River runs along the side of this two-lane road, providing ample opportunity for accessible fishing.

Last photo is looking towards the back side of the mountain, this is not open yet, but chatting to a ski patrol guy on the lift Wed, he said it should be Friday, in the local paper today it has been confirmed that tomorrow morning pretty much the whole mountain will be open.
