      The following morning, we continued gaining elevation until we reached 10,000-feet for the first time in Colorado. After a few more hours on this well-graded dirt road, we leveled off when we reached the junction with State Highway 8 that runs between Meeker on the West and Yampa on the East. The White River runs along the side of this two-lane road, providing ample opportunity for accessible fishing.

      I have my bike and trailer packed I also did a trial pack of my bag with everything in it. bike weighs 29 lb, trailer 16 lb, and trip bag with everything I should need weights 40 lbs. it has been hard to pack for a month and a half bike trip. and not worry about forgetting something or have too ...

      ... foxes and wolves in past trips but never a moose. Hope there aren't any bears around (supposedly not from what I have been told), only bears are in the new Yogi and Boo Boo movie they keep advertising on TV. Oh well that will be a story no one will believe. Thursdays local paper has photos of said moose, so I wasn't seeing things. Apparently there are about 20 getting around the city, the huge amount of early snow has chased them into town looking for food ...
