... the cross winds averaged 25 MPH plus. Around 6 PM the sky to the north was turning black so it was time to seek cover. We found a Walmart in Lamar, CO, a very cute little town. ... old structure. I got some groceries and took a stroll back to camp while drinking a sweet tea. No one ever came to collect money or talk to me. I scarfed down some food and relaxed by the lake all afternoon. For all the people who said Kansas was flat, you should probably bike or walk through it before you keep telling people that. The horizon looks flat, but the highways follow the natural hills. The roads don't cut into the hills here like they do in Colorado or Utah.... ...
