No plans for the day other than to drive - we left any other experiences up to fate. As a result, we had unexpectedly wonderful moments! We were planning to eat breakfast at a rest area but saw a sign for Grindstone Reservoir, so decided to see what it offered. I really do love Kansas. I think today may have been my favorite day in the whole trip so far. Its hard to tell though because I've loved the whole trip. ... to I-70 to Grand Junction, CO. Then it is US-50 all the way to Dodge City, KS. It is a little over 900 miles.
We found a beautiful Federal campground on a reservoir lake for the first night .
