      ... final hunt was on the 31st. The Atherstone hunt met at the kennels. This time I rode Ben, a bay cob. I was quite nervous as I hadn't jumped home before, and he was a bit more of a goer than George. But the first fence was a small friendly one and after that we were away.       ... in a nearby field. One was obviously chained to its kennel but the smaller dog was free. The little dog (Sammy) started to run towards me, ducked through the undergrowth and stopped to say hello. I did the obligatory stroking and then set off to resume my journey. Sammy came too. I tried to send him back but he took no notice of that suggestion. I carried on walking. So did Sammy. Now you have to understand that I am walking down a little country road ...
