      Car arrived on time and I am now in the lounge. Just had a lovely breakfast of prawn salad and lovely coffee. This is certainly the way to travel. Must make the most of it.       This afternoon I went to the Birmingham Christmas markets with Angus, Becka, Suzannah and Alistair. On arrival we got a cup of mulled wine and a German sausage. This German sausage was 1/2 a metre long and it was delicious! With warm food in our tums we ventured off around the markets. There were so many stalls selling cool stuff.       ... br> But heh travel is a learning curve and drawing on our previous cultural mishaps we had a look around our fellow patrons and espied open shellfish sandwiches on a table nearby which looked more than acceptable. So I gestured at the hapless diners stuck two fingers up to the waitress and hoped on hope that was not translated as " Now f..k off and get us a couple of prawn sarnies" !!

      The good news is that the awful noise has all but gone. YES!! We can now accelerate gradually without going suddenly from tickover to fast to avoid the dreadful screeching.

      We met Peter and Maureen, BCF members, on Miss Heliotrope who were staying in the basin for two weeks. Maureen has a heart valve operation on Monday. We said we would pray for her.
