... the head (in addition to the other effects of spina bifida--like exposure of the nerve tissue that makes up the spinal cord from the bones of the spinal column, which requires surgery).
ANYWAYS....we learned about that weeks ago- and i remembered it because i wasn't clear on if hydrocephalus and the exposed spinal cord were related or if they just randomly happen to occur together and i had looked it up on google. then today i went in to the ward ...

I <3 Ghana

... NICE!! It was exhausting! I don’t know how these people do this allll day. They come up to you, shake your hand, ask you your name, talk to you and beg you to look at their store. A bunch of the SAS people bought drums. I was tempted because they are so cool and they can carve your name in them and stuff, but I had to remind myself that I would probably not spend much time drumming away once I got home. Later that night I went to a Welcome Reception that a college in Ghana ...

... obama's hand on the wall in the living room, so i assumed wherever we were it was definitely the living room of some one important. I think everyone else there was a little confused as to what we were doing too. At one point, several men at the party got pretty heated with mr. passah. We listened in on their argument and realized they were mad because he had let us all serve ourselves before them. When we heard this, we interrupted and told them to go ahead ...

my day today was so amazing. i had stayed awake til 4am talking with derek on the computer, but it gets light so early here that by 7am i couldnt sleep anymore! so i decided to go out just for a short run to pass the time and keep my mind occupied. I went by and woke up Leslie and we left by about 8am. then, about 17 minutes into the run, Leslie (who i run with every day) said she thought she could go further---like 40 minutes. so we did ...

It turns out to be very expensive but the crashing waves mad it a very nice stop.

After lunch and a beer went to the market that we had been to on our first visit. One of the people remembered us which was nice. It also meant that we had to visit his stall. Arriving near the end of the day ...

I'm sorry!!

Sorry for the lack of updates. Getting internet access here is horrible. I came to the internet cafe and they said they didn't allow wireless internet access after 6pm, and now that I'm back well before 6pm, the wireless connection isn't working. It's like....I'm connected to the internet, but it won't take me to the sites I'm requesting. I'm frustrated. I have 8 blogs that are ready to go on my computer, and I have all my videos edited and ready ...

Health Care in Ghana

... People who have not travelled to Africva think of it as being a scary, war-torn, poor, brutal "dark" continent, and in many places it is. But, it also has such incredible places like Mali, or Ghana, wh**e the gov**nment is (relatively) stable, the people are industrious (much more so that I have seen at home in many ways), incredibly hard working, kind, gen**ous, open, and friendly, wh**e th**e is investment, infratructure development, massive improvemnt in education, cutting down on ...

... took it easy whilst we waited for the Indian Embassy to open after the week end. Ah also, the camera broke, so there are no pics from Bobo onwards. We're hoping to buy a new camera at the airport when we fly to India, and will take pics on the mobile phone until then, but we can't post them. After sortng out the visa, we're off to the Ghanean coast to chill for 5 days before our flight to Mumbai.
