I have no idea how we found out about this weekly banjo event at the Floyd country store but apparently its an institution for all six toed , straw chewin folk , so we'll be right at home . Must admit, even though I was really tired when I finally crossed the border into Virginia, the ride over the mountains and the surrounding scenery was pretty impressive.

... track but was a nice walk and a nice fall. We then caught a lucky break when the GPS took us the longer (but more practical) way to the next planned stop. On the was we decided to call into Sliding Rock. Damien had read that this would be very crowded in Summer so hadn't planned on stopping. ... couple of nights in Washington DC, visiting the Smithsonian and wearing cotton clothes.

We're still all having a good time and I continue to thank my lucky stars that I'm here.

There are photos AND A VIDEO. The video is 18 seconds of a descent. It isn't very exciting and nobody crashes.....
