Up early (and by early I mean 10...) - Out the door at 11 and on the road! Goodbye Kenmare!
We flew up the road towards Blarney Castle - Had to do it for Mike's sake because how could you possibly go to Ireland and NOT kiss that stone? (I never have, FYI...germs....can't handle it!)
So we drove to Blarney which was a straight …
Up early this morning. Too early for our English breakfast. Drove to the ferry port at Holyhead. Loaded the car on and went into the lounge to enjoy the 3.5 hour trip. We disembarked at Dublin and drove through sometimes very heavy rain to Kilkenny (home of the Tobin clan). First stop was Kilkenny castle. Then we took the Kilkenny road train tour to get our bearings. Followed up with a walk around town. Found an Irish pub we had read about and went in for a ...

Ate dinner at Kyetelers Inn, which was home to a woman names Aloce Kyeteler. She had 4 husbands and three died quite mysteriously. She was accused of witchcraft by her kids and friends and escaped the night before she was to be burned on the stake. This was in ...

... But we are having so much craic (fun) but winding down for our trip home soon. Lots of pictures, lots of memories, lots of hiking and walking.

Location was great....
I was oddly itchy all night.
Not sure what was going on with this place but there were NO other guests except apparently 1 person who was sleeping in the next room and snored so loud that I felt like we were sharing a bed. The walls were so thin I could hear even his BREATHING. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. CREEPYYYYYYYYYy
This place was just bizarre. The guy was nice enough who ran it but I did feel a bit like I was at a halfway house (not sure why) - It was eerie... The room was OK and the price was fine - It was just odd. Everything felt dirty even though it looked clean. There was a sign in the bathroom asking girls to not use the washcloths to remove makeup. Luckily I don't wear a lot but it was just so weird.
The breakfast was full Irish or whatever but what was put out made me sick enough to not want to order anything- Looked like someone emptied their fridge onto a table ....half used bottles of mayo, ketchup... for WHAT? so weird. rice krispy treats and other weird cereal bars...just really weird.
would not recommend unless all u care about is location. parking was a plus.
