... disagree, and without a word of rebuttal, she's off to the corner store to pick up some pudding.

Lonely Planet describes black and white pudding as being 'like meatloaf, but sausage shaped, cut into discs and fried'. Like many LP descriptions, it is woefully inadequate, for a food that is as integral to Irish cuisine as potatoes and Guinness. Black and white sausage is two sausages, often sold as a pair. The white pudding is mainly made up of pork meat and oats ...
Clonmel, Tipperary, Ireland jmckerricher... roads in Ireland are miniature versions of the variety we have in Canada, but the speed limits don't reflect this. We clipped along, squeezed between rock walls and oncoming traffic.

"The side mirrors on the car fold in if they're hit" Michelle informed me.
That was immensely reassuring.

We arrived home in record time, Michelle threw together a proper feast, and I was in bed by 8.
Clonmel, Tipperary, Ireland jmckerricher... besides pasta, lunch meat sandwich, or pizza. Then when we came back Lindsey & Brittany had made me a cake while I was gone and put up a birthday banner. Jordan also got be a flashing birthday girl sash. Everyone hung out in my apartment till about 10 and then we went downtown to the pubs. We called for taxis for 16 people and ended up getting this party bus with lights and loud music. The ride was really cool and the night was a blast!
Carlow, County Carlow, Ireland kristonkay... she was invaluable to us.. but sometimes she did seem to falter just when we needed her the most!! Right in the middle of town! lol.

We stopped off in Kilkenny, oh and can I mention when you ask the GPS to take you to a place it will take you right to its centre.. Kilkenny was my first taste of a small street Irish city, with buses and lorries etc.. oh no... The other thing I did notice about driving in Ireland, don't expect to see too much of the ...
Waterford, County Waterford, Ireland sares12... before going down to the shop at the bottom of the hill to get out of the wind.

We saw a sign for St. Patrick’s well just beyond the car park, so we walked up to it. It was dry, but we gave it a little time before getting back in the car and driving to the town of Trim.

Trim Castle dominates the landscape as one enters the town. We entered and rather than wait half an hour for a tour, we chose to explore just the grounds. The grounds were quite extensive, and the ...
Carlow, County Carlow, Ireland rovingwerners... Alex. We wanted to try again for the Writer's Pub Crawl, but it was closed on Mondays, so we just had dinner in a pub, bought the yummy doughnuts from the lady on O'Connell Street and headed for "home."Tomorrow the plane is at 11:30, so we don't have to get up too early. I heartily recommend the Gourmet Shop on the High St. in Kilkenny. It provided us with terrific, inexpensive sandwiches for lunch. It was the best meal deal we had the whole visit.

Kilkenny, Ireland nat-l-e... what I eat, and the promise of all that every morning always made it much easier for me to get up.

A dark grey mist was rolling in from the sea as we meandered along narrow country lanes near Lady’s Island Lake, some sort of Catholic pilgrimage site, and westwards to the Hook Peninsula, through a progression of tiny villages with the obligatory one or two cosy looking pubs amongst the handful of houses in their centre. In one such ...
Kilkenny, County Kilkenny, Ireland troywilkinson... that I've seen all that was worth seeing. That wasn't the case at Glendalough. I spent two and a half hours there. I wish I'd have spent two and a half days. It was easily the best attraction I visited on the entire trip (U.K. and Ireland). No one going to Ireland should miss this spot. If you don't visit it, you haven't been to Ireland.

After a couple of hours there. So, we got back on the road to see Enniscorthy Castle before it closed. The trip ...
