Nydeck Bern

Greetings!

I cannot believe that it was only last weekend that I was in Zermatt, nor can I believe that I have only been here for 3.5 weeks. My friends and I can hardly believe we have known each other for such a short period of time, but I have learned that friendships form quickly and become strong when you are trying to figure out how to live in a new country.

... a nice enough dude and got us where we wanted to go even after we thought he might be trying to kidnap us. After partying hard at the bar we realized we had to find our way back to the hostel which was on the other side of the city. UHOH. Due too our drunken state and tiredness from the bus ride in everyone becaem really irritated with each other and we all ended up separating into small groups. ... du lac. Il a pris quelques heures, mais le c'était la valeur le voyage. Il se réchauffe juste quand j'ai été fait, donc j'ai sauté dans le lac (j'avais porté mon maillot de bain sous mon vêtement). Le c'était merveilleux. J'avais emballé un pique-nique, donc j'ai mangé que pendant que sécher. J'ai conduit de retour à mon hôtel pour doucher, faire un petit somme, et changer avant retourner dans la ville pour regarder l'Orchestre Symphonique de Neuchâtel. La musique a êtê très belle.

... am sitting insde because it hailed before and im tired. I have walked for hours, and i didnt sleep that well because some girls in my dorm room woke at 6 am and packed everything into plastic bags and then put those bags into another bag... i now offically hate the sound of plastic bags :) Tonight i am in Switzerland... tomorrow..... ROMA...... no not the town west of stanthorpe... but the real rome... I would love to write more but i am about to run out of credit... love u all

mood: sad and farewelling Wednesday was a great day out, Desiree had to work but i went out with Jaqueline, Leila and their cousin Christoph. Our first stop was Montreux, a gorgeous but not so typically swiss town on lake Geneva, known as the 'Swiss Riviera'. It was very tropical and done up, sculptured gardens with varying designs lined the waterfront, and its a lovely stroll along the edge of the lake. My lovely Swiss planners were waiting for me with some wine tasting of the owners local wine (fan bloody tastic, perfect after my hiking adventure!). i love these unpredictable crazy funny days, they are great for your character building. It was an old man and his daughter and when the old man found out I was travelling alone, he told me I should take a swiss boy home with me and the woman offered up her son, but he was still in school. This is just the type of opportunity that I wouldn't have had if I traveled alone - I would have never started talking to these people ...

... some of the weird rules they have here. They are REALLY strict about recycling here. Each Canton in Switzerland has specific garbage bags that you MUST use. This is rather silly and annoying I think because you have to buy the bags from the grocery store and they are NOT cheap let me tell you! Also, paper should be recycled and you have to stack the paper and tie a string around it a certain way....I could go on. I think the craziest ones have to do with quiet time ...
