    ... like us. There was no one else riding the karts. The were quite different to the luge in NZ, more like drift go karts that go down a rickety wooden planked pathway but it was lots of fun. Then you got hooked onto a rope and towed back up the hill to the start! After the karts we walked an hour back down the hill instead of taking the gondola to work off all the buscuits we ate.

    ... the wonderful friendly station cat.What an attention seeker he is but he is just wonderful and friendly and so everyone makes a fuss of him.

    It has been an extremely long day and we are all once again exhausted. By the time I got back to the hotel my feet were killing me and it was just great to relax on the balcony under the wonderful Alps mountains.

    Tomorrow we plan to take a long train journey to the lakeside town of Lucerne and simply see what is there.

    ... found it ok though. In the morning we had organised to go and see Jane briefly at her flower shop for a coffee, and she kindly got us a croissant each from the same delicious bakery as the day before. It was lovely to see her shop, which was right in the middle of the old town and filled with beautiful flowers and decorations. Afterwards we explored Murten a bit.     Unfortunately, Mo had to work so we couldn't spend too much time with her, but Tino spent the afternoon giving us a tour of Bern. Bern has a large old town section which is a Unesco site, so it's obviously very preserved and beautiful.
