This new hotel is clean, the elevators are large enough, the bathroom fixtures are stylish and functional, and the beds are comfortable. The staff is friendly and when I had trouble closing the window, the desk sent help in about 30 seconds flat. Awesome!

It is named after this city. I also had mercimek sorba (pronounced shorba) which is lentil soup, kisilik pastirma which is dried meat cooked with onion tomatoes and other veggies, gilaboru which is salted fruit ...

... They’re special because they have wall paintings in varying condition but the best we saw were St Barbara’s church with terracotta coloured simple drawings, the snake church with very clear multi-coloured paintings which included St George and the dragon (snake), and Onophrios who lived for about forty years in the wilderness in Egypt like a wild animal not wearing clothes, not eating, not living in a house – he’s depicted naked and has ...
