We passed when the road widened considerably. ... The first few hours consisted of a gently rising track through dry, crisp forest; a chance to get to know ones group whilst the going was fairly easy. Later the conversation would lull as the going got tougher. Under the forest canopy we made camp for lunch, along with many other groups. Lunch was of course made up of rice, egg and fruit.
