... the lunch hour began. The builders came in in hordes. Seated, supplied with bread and wine followed by pasta and then time to get back to work. We moved on and later found a great pizza place. Pizzas are good here (unlike Rome). We then followed Fabio's advice and caught the ferry into Como. We spent the afternoon walking about the main part of the city - lovely old buildings, huge Duomo (surprise!!), partially unfinished waterfront, shops ...

Well from the outside of city there is a breathtaking view of the upper town but once you are in it I woudn't say the same. Still there is plenty to see wandering around the streets and lots of lovely churches to explore. But it's definitely not the best medieval town in Italy.

... stark decor is brightened by a rotating exhibit of paintings, with what seems like at least one server for every two patrons, the service is superb and the food is innovative and excellent. We chose one of the tasting menus; it included pate, baked porcini, pasta with onion and basil sauce, mullet stuffed with beans and tiramisu. Although each course had a twist, blueberries with porcini for example, nothing tasted overly strange. We enjoyed every ...

This city is Nuts!!! So busy, so frantic and so packed. It's composed of the supper rich and the extreme poor. Prada is busy trying to sell us a suit for 45,000 Euro (that's without the shirt and tie) while beggars get on the tram and stand in front of people hoping that they will deposit a coin or two into their cup.

Then there's the traffic. We sometimes complain about traffic back home, yet another road work area to negotiate or a slow ...
