The place has so many layers of defenses, it took a while to walk up to the top. Once in the town, you are greeted by numerous shops and stalls all selling towels and linen (nothing else). Couldn't believe ...
Here Vigo, here Vigo!
Our arrival time today is not until 12 noon so there is time for the traditional Celebrity Sunday brunch. The central double height part of the dining room has been cleared of tables and replaced with displays of the most amazing array of food and drink. It is all beautifully laid out and very tasty.
It is the nicest day we have had so far the sky is blue and the sun is shining, a change for Vigo!
We watch the sail ...
Yellow paint and oysters
... them have balconies, enclosed with gorgeous wrought ironwork, or completely covered in with decorated wooden windows, some with tiles on the walls and almost all with large wooden doors decorated with iron studs and knockers.
But many are derelict and there are lots of empty shops, with broken windows and splattered with ugly graffiti. I guess the economic climate has hit hard here. Many of the signs around the town and above shops etc. are falling ...
Smoke and mirrors
... which we posted and boarded the plane.
Vigo was dry as we landed in the sunset, and sped into the old town by taxi.
The hotel we had chosen is modern and funky. All black corridors, mirrors and coloured lights in corners. The room itself is lovely apart from the smell left after they have tried to rid it of the smell of smoke...
But all very exciting.... so now to explore!

A nice small city by the sea
... Several of you have commented that you have enjoyed the pictures, well, I have more and will share.
Will probably not post from Madrid, but if I take some interesting pictures I'll post them when I'm back.
This has been a great experience for me, and I'm grateful that you my dear friends and family have been with me all the way on THE WAY. I'm eager to get back and personally tell you about my Great Adventure.
