    ... day. We'd hoped to sail our way up the ria, but the wind was well and truly dead, so we chugged along slowly and admired the scenery.

    ... corn which tasted pretty good. There was the Iglesia de Peregrinos and the Basilica Santa Maria and San Francisco monasterio that we visited and after a couple of hours we had seen most of the old town so we were pleased to get the bus back and head for the beach for a change.     ... selling the homemade liqueurs that you can apparently sell without a license here as long as you're only doing so from your own home.

    We've decided to spend another night here so we can get this most out of such a beautiful little place (and the free wi-fi certainly doesn't hurt...) After that we're heading down to the next ria, before we find that we've spent the whole summer in this corner of Spain.

    Not long after that we headed over to the Ria de Arousa, where we are now, and settled down just off a beach near a town called Ribeira, where we ended up staying for a week. It was pretty much perfect; the sun shone every day with wonderful intensity, the beach was long and sandy and there was a Lidl about ten minutes walk away.

    ... style dresser of gleaming dark wood and a huge bed fitted with crisp white cotton sheets. The friendly lady who made up the room wore a starched uniform and the waiters in the exceptionally good restaurant attached to the hotel wore waistcoats and bow ties as they glided around the tables. It felt very refined and old fashioned and the staff couldn't do enough to help with anything at all. Almost didn't want to leave the hotel haha. However, ...
