The fortress was first, built out of previous ruins, 9th century, by a Moorish king. As with all fortresses, it is on a high point with great views from any of its towers over the city of Granada.     Left Almerimar and drove to Lanjeron down an amazing valley. Found the "track" up to Sarah's at Lanjaron ... Just kept going as it got windier, steeper and narrower...
