    ... a lot of history and the buildings are old. Its interesting to note that in spite of the city having been severely bombed by the allies during the war, the three cathedrals, which sport tall spires, were never hit or damaged. Must be a divine force at work.

    ... checking out all the fancy stuff like showers, toilets and beds we walked down the harbor with our host Matthias, for a few pre dinner drinks. The pub we went to was on an old light ship. The ship is essentially a moving lighthouse that was used in the past to mark the ever shifting sandbanks for ships at sea.

    An early start following sneaked in daddy cuddles! A quick take down, swift showers and sarnies thrown together before leaving our beloved Dokkum for Germany. A brisk 240 miles thanks to German efficiency! The guide book told us there are no real speed limits on much of the autobahnen..... It did not lie!! Upon the first goal, there was so much cheering and music playing the "woo hoo" song. Everyone jumped out of their chairs and were screaming.
