Although we dreamt and planned a lot for this journey, we never thought about the last part.
Waiting between our last two planes, we still have one question:How do you end such an overwhelming adventure before getting back to the real world of bills, plumbing problems and work but also friends, family, weekends and summerbars? I guess by putting the best pics on your screensaver and planning the next one :-)?.
It is 5:38 pm Italy time... how do I know this???... because our plane has actually landed in Italy. It's a miracle!!! The drive from our hotel is 40 minutes. Along the way I am struck by the beautiful flowering bushes, crazy fast driving and the graffiti. Once we hit about 30 minutes into the drive you start to see the tops of the famous Italian buildings and the quaint shops. The city really bustles to life with everyone vying for parking ...
I was finally off on my adventure to Russia and the Baltics after all the madness at work. I had planned on taking the Lawrence bus across to the airport. When we got to Jane St they kicked everyone off and said transit control had ordered the bus to short turn. How can you do this on an airport bus??
Dark until 8.15am so didn't see out the window. When we did, the courtyard was covered in snow. Skype with Lena and family.
Walked to Kafeewerk, recommended by Bean Hunter, good coffee. Near Skyline Shopping Centre and festival hall. Also Hammering Man.

... from day one. The culture shock was unlike anything I have experienced in my life. Now I feel like I could travel all over Europe without issue. I have also overcome my fear of flying during this trip. I guess 7 flights totaling over 25 hours of flying in 3 weeks will do the trick. And speaking of which, we are already busy planning our next European vacation. Any guesses as to where? One hint: we'll definitely be drinking a lot of tea & possibly partying with Harry ...
