So relieved to have air-conditioning after 2 nights without during Summer heatwave. Rooms comfortable and a 50% off second room for kids and free entertainment package made it good value. Buffet breakfast ok but not thrilling. Easy access to city on #4 tram.Best part about hotel is the staff. So friendly, helpful and porsitive. The people we dealt with clearly love their jobs. Would definitely stay here again.

... a half hour there we walked down to the village bakery ( as per Margaret's recommendations) & "how right were you Marg". A lovely bakery with a lot of choice. We then caught the bus/ arrangement arriving back in Zurich @ 5pm. A leisurely walk found us back to our hotel. An early night is assured as we have full day tours booked for the coming days. We sent Sarah to find some takeaway as I couldn't walk another step & Greg was snoring. So until tomorrow "Guten ...

Standard rail fromMunich to Zurich is 6 hours, luckily we are on the fast direct which is 4 hours. Early start to get the 7:15am, it's now 7:14am and as the Germans do, it will pull out in one minute........bang right on time. Dry and a warm 6 in Munich this morning, expecting zero and snow in Zurich. We have a night in Zurich arriving back in Munich near midnight on Wednesday. Wonderful trip down, the scenery was just spectacular. Zurich was just as it was 25 years ...

... our collapsible backpack and hit the road again. Off to downtown Zurich and exploring a new city. We thought it best to head towards the river that was a drain out for Lake Zurich and followed it thru town to the lakefront. Many beautiful parks, trees and buildings line the river, which splits about a mile from the lake, creating an island that is home to some of the most expensive hotels, shops and restaurants in Europe. We found a Starbucks, grabbed a coffee and a ...

Time saving tip - if google maps tells you it's a 30 minute walk or less to your accommodation, just walk. It almost always takes us under half that time to get there and figuring out public transport can take forever, especially if you jump on the wrong bus / tram and need to back track. A 15 minute walk took us 2 hrs via public transport in Florence the other day, 'twas a nightmare. Speaking of Florence, it's where we said goodbye to Italy. During our week there we had ...
