... because Weston was no where in sight, we hurried on the train. Chandler still didn't have his passport or train tickets, so we walked up and down the train to find Weston. Luckily, 10 minutes before our train was to depart, Weston hoped on board! We were so thankful he made it! When he got on, his ticket said he was seat 97. However, seat 97 didn't exist, the seat looked like it had been removed or had never ...
... another stretch of the river, then through the Platzspitz park behind the Swiss National Museum. We didn't have time to tour the museum so we hit a grocery store to pick up snacks for the train.
Back to the station to reclaim luggage then onto the train. We managed to find two unreserved seats and settled in to enjoy the trip through the countryside...and promptly fell asleep about 10 minutes into the trip. So much for the view of the Alps!
We arrived in Munich ...
... a traveling salesman, boring as bat poo and made for people who work for people, the chuck it on the company credit card club. Booked an earlier train back to Munich, may even get back early enough to have a beer in a serious city, but full disclosure needed, I like Munich almost as much as I love Berlin. It's not Switzerland per say as I love Geneva , Lucerne etc, but Zurich, stripe me pink! it's a bit dull, if not for this brilliant Irish pub all would have been ...
... we set out in search of that and in pretty short order we came across Spruengli Café. As we made our way upstairs we were lucky to find a seat since the place was packed with all sorts of locals and tourists having coffee, lunch or just an afternoon treat. We had a wonderful light meal which we of course then augmented with wonderfully decadent treats from their dessert case and then headed back out to see a bit of Zurich.
