And so time to farewell our beautiful Diamond Princess. Our transfer to Beijing was at 7am so we had asked to be included in the earliest departure group from the ship which was to meet at 6.30am in Club Fusion.
We got up showered and dressed, packed up the last of our gear and nipped down to the Lobby bar to see Jimmy for a coffee to …
Last night we had a voice message letting us know our tour guide was Anne (pronounced Anni) and that she would meet us at 8am in the foyer. Today's tour were all private tours with one guide for every couple.
So we had an early breakfast, grabbed our cameras and some water and were ready for the off. Unfortunately it was a very smoggy day …
No tours booked for today so we had a bit of a lie in and then got up and I sorted out our suitcases a bit. Problem was that the way I had to pack when we left the ship is different to how you have to pack for air travel. After that was done we headed down for some breakfast. Reasonable hotel - probably only just a four star. Rooms a little bit tired, and all seem to be smoking rooms so the smell when you first come in isn't at all pleasant. Nice big beds and fantastic water pressure in the showers. Nice touch is the condom provided in the bathroom! Breakfast is quite good and they also offer free wifi - and the speed is pretty good. Two metro stops to the Pearl Markets - or a reasonable walk.
