We will post trip information here as soon as it starts. For 2010, we will continue planning the project and look for Sponsors that are willing to invest and support the Project. All indications in that regard is ...
Vitoria, State of Espirito Santo, Brazil pamericas... hug. This happens every session for new comers.
As big food lovers, my new family ásked me to cook some real Australian food to which I responded we didnt have any! So I spent 2 hours in the kitchen cooking up a storm of a moussaka, popped it in the oven and to my disgrace, 5 minutes later the glass dish it was in smashed from the heat, the meal was ruined. We opted for take out chicken parmigana that night. I did feel better when ...
... gitaar).
Vitoria, State of Espirito Santo, Brazil jhoekstra79... maybe Mt. St. Helens, downtown Portland, and Chuck. We're flying back to Glens Falls on the 25th. I'm attending a meeting with the North American Andritz prez on the 28th. Then I'm looking at going to Vegas to visit my buddy Adam that next weekend, or have him come up to GF. Then sometime in April, I'm probably coming back to Brazil for another month. I should get back out into the shop now.
Vitoria, Brazil big_red_truck... pool to lounge by. When it was really windy, you could tell the building was swaying by the rythym of the water in the pool sloshing back and forth. Also, the parking was up on the second floor. But there was only about 100ft of ramp to take you all the way up. I didn't know if the little GM Prisma would be able to handle that sort of incline.
Vitoria, Brazil big_red_truck... what happened to me you ask?? Arrested? Deported? (obviously not since I'm writing this in Brazil), maybe at least frisked and given a drug or alcohol test... NOTHING!!! ABSO-FRICKIN-LUTELY NOTHING!!! They told Elias that maybe he should drive the rest of the way to Vitoria and said they'd call ahead to the Policia Rodovaria further down the road to look for us. So Elias drove ...
Vitoria, Brazil big_red_truck... arrived as expected - in (brasilian) time too. The bus was really good. The seats were actually better than all the hostels we stayed in, which is pleasant foresight if the bus ride takes 19 hours. It even had video. So we watched Ice Age 2 twice in Portuguese with no subtitles the first time. We sure asked the bus driver multiple times to put sounds on the headsets and switch on the subtitles. Unfortunately the bus drivers sit in a little cubicle upfront (with ...
Vitoria, Brazil ankersmit... and me that there would be dolphins in the ocean that morning, so we headed to the beach and caught the sunrise. We eventually realized that the dolphins were a no-show and headed back down the street to find the other student who'd stayed out with us. He was at the afterparty which, of course, was at a gas station (read previous blog). We finally walked back to our little hotel where we ended up falling asleep on the rockface "private beach" until the exact minute that ...
Vila Velha, Brazil amankoraHere is a bit of a tidbit about South American cities. Big cities started strategically, by ports or mines or other things like that. As cities grew, people were slightly well off (lower end of middle class in Brazil, higher end of lower class in Venezuela) in the middle parts of these cities. People from the country side were eager to get in on the action and they started to move in to these cities. However ...
Vitoria, Brazil mrewkowskiEn Vitoria pasamos delicioso.
