      ... try them when we get home. Went into a book store, but it was all in French, of course. Good thing as I would have purchased a few cookbooks.

      We did go into a cafe where they had huge meringue cookies, like the kisses I make. I do not know how many people could actually eat that whole cookie, maybe five people. I did take a picture but probably cannot see how really large the cookie is.

    • Hawkers seemed to be limited in numbers and in no way as pushy as in other countries. They will leave you alone once you make it clear you don't want to buy with many very happy to just have a chat.

      ... a flat red lava gravel plain whose colours were surreal. It was a
      short walk to the old crater rim where you could look out over the lava plain
      to the cone of the current active volcano which is Piton De Fournaise. It was a
      5 hour walk up to the edge of the current crater so we decided just to walk to
      the edge of the drop down to the old crater. What an amazing unique experience!

      ... thing was the first of two big pods of dolphins performing great aerial gyrations. Next port of call was Victoria, the capital of the Seychelles on the island of Mahe. We had pre booked a car and driver who met us at the wharf and we then spent seven hours touring. First we drove around Victoria which is the worlds smallest capital and saw every thing including a walk through the local markets (we love markets).
