We did go into a cafe where they had huge meringue cookies, like the kisses I make. I do not know how many people could actually eat that whole cookie, maybe five people. I did take a picture but probably cannot see how really large the cookie is.

... where we arrived late in the afternoon. We walked into the brand new terminal arrival section which was about four times as large as the old one. It was well staffed, so lines were not too long. We walked to the transit line where we still had to fill out arrival forms giving all our personal information. Then we were allowed down to the new departure area. short walk to the old crater rim where you could look out over the lava plain
to the cone of the current active volcano which is Piton De Fournaise. It was a
5 hour walk up to the edge of the current crater so we decided just to walk to
the edge of the drop down to the old crater. What an amazing unique experience!
After leaving the volcano we continued across the island centre to the west
