... a microphone. (I think maybe he was supposed to be the devil - body painted red with horns.) I grabbed my camera and ran out to the street but since I hadn't used it in over a week, the battery was dead.
I've been told it's Ok pensa, OOk pensa, Open sa, the first day of the Buddha, and Buddhist Lent. Pick one. Or pick all. And my auditory discrimination for Thai is so bad that I can't find anything even remotely close on the ...
... she started yelling at me, spit flying and all. I had understood her from the beginning and was trying to use every Thai word I knew to explain that I got it and that I was thankful. I think she was having a bad day or maybe it was the Israeli tourist she had been talking to before me, but boy did I get it. To make matters worse it was one of those days, I have a few of them, where I find everything extremely funny. So there I was biting my lip, trying my hardest not to erupt into fits ...
Ko Samet, Rayong, Thailand oniburgerHi Everyone! Sorry it's been a while since our last entry-trekking in the jungle! woo! First the end of week 2: On thursday we went for a bike ride which was lovely- but sunburn was not. Cycled along the river and had lunch cooked by locals- good noodleage. On friday we went to an aquarium and a zoo which was cool- we saw baby lions and orang utans ...

The worms, on the other hand... Though similar in taste they have a gritty, sandy texture that's a little unnerving, to say the least, so out of the kindness of my heart I left those for other hungry travelers.
After a welcome and lengthy swim in the ocean and way too many Singhas we climbed back into the vehicles and did the long drive home - most of which I slept through. Then it was blissful horizontality and my first full night's sleep in what seemed like a lifetime.
... very tentatively diped a toe in the sea, just to see what the water was like. It was a source of great amusement to me for a good half hour that the water was actually warm. Warm I tell you! As I was off the beer there was little else to do other than go to bed in my wooden hut. I was asleep by 11 and managed my first full nights sleep since last Wednesday waking at 6:30am. A pack of howling dogs at my door did their best to keep me awake at 3am, but I managed to drift back ...
Ko Samet, Thailand --frank--... gave it a shot. The gist of it was a journey around Ko Samet, some snorkelling, and visit to a 'fish farm' (yes fish farm is in inverted commas for reasons I shall explain...). Three Thai men and one very young boy were our hosts . One spoke very broken English. The life jackets they said were optional to wear. So we definitely put them on! It was my first time in a speed boat and now I understand how fragile they are on the ocean waters! It was a fun ...
Ko Samet, Thailand nellyandsime... has declared that the Family will be forever in Assumption's debt. Since the Thai people are so dedicated to the King, his opinions become the majority consensus; therefore securing Assumption's reputation. Since Assumption is a satellite of the Catholic church, it does not consider itself a for-profit organization. Any money that the school collects, from tuition or otherwise, is put back into the school, rather than ...

Koh Chang, Thailand alanf... which is tucked away down a dark road leading out of town. Their margaritas are actually pretty good and Mike has fallen in love with the banana bud salad with coconut milk. We keep going back for dessert though, which consists of boiled taro in coconut milk and gingko nuts with sweet sticky rice and taro mousse. We have also found an amazing Japanese restaurant that is always packed with Japanese clientele... definitely a good ...
Rayong, Thailand mikeandjess... Most of the city is made up a three story(+) buildings that house a business and the family's home plus additional apartments. On Wednesday we set out determined to find a job. One of our TEFL trainers, Gloria, was nice enough to accompany us before she had to teach. We managed to stop by a wide range of schools, from Catholic to government to British sponsored. It was ...
