    ... while just enjoying this tropical wonder.

    One constant throughout all the islands we have visited has been one of friendliness and respect to us as visitors. They obviously appreciate the goodwill and support of their livelihood to their lives.

    Thank you good ship Statendam and Crew for making this possible.

    Next I will attempt to catch up with my blog – see you next on Fanning Island. ...

    ... the third reef line. We noticed it just before sundown and so put the 3rd reef in and sailed through the night in lightening winds very much underpowered. The repair would have to wait for daylight but the reduced sail area cost us more than 2 knots.

    Come Sunday morning the front had moved off to the North East and we were blessed with beautiful clear, blue skies, 10-14 knots of breeze, calm seas and a yacht that was screaming out to be unshackled ...

    ... jumping out of the water now and then. It was SO EXCITING!! The waves were just the right amount of roughness for the dolphins to play, and it was not too rough for us. I was the only one who put on the life jacket. Like others, I took video with my underwater camera, but really did not catch any good shots. We're all crowded in the zodiac and I had to hang on to the zodiac (to make sure I did not fall out of the boat:-)). I took a whole bunch of videos ...

    We swam to some big chunks of brightly colored coral. I discovered two eels that were showing their big teeth. Our French guide also found a big Napoleon fish.

    As the morning was fading away, we departed to Tuheiava pass, one of Captain Cousteau's favorite places to dive for the variety of marine life. This is right at the exit of Tikehau’s lagoon onto the ocean.
